The Transformative Power of Kailash: Psychotherapist, Guru and More…
Updated: Apr 27, 2019
Kailash supports our evolution beyond all other places on the planet. This is the profound experience of many pilgrims. We are all moving towards self-realisation but there are certain places on the planet that quicken this journey.
The nature of Kailash is mysterious, but we do know it is made from resonant stone that vibrates to a frequency that causes the experience of opening to the deeper spiritual dimension of life. Just how the opening occurs depends on the ripeness of the person. I am looking forward to returning after fifteen years of ripening since my initial opening there.
An experience of dying and living in the arms of love as we become devoid of all the illusions, we wrap around ourselves in everyday life.
For everyone, this process of opening is challenging, experienced by some as an exquisite act of suffering as one loses one’s old identity. One pilgrim described it as an experience of dying and living in the arms of love as we become devoid of all the illusions we wrap around ourselves in everyday life.
For some pilgrims it is a very emotional process as the journey shatters the old and leads one to the dawning of Self-realisation. For me there were many tears as I struggled to surrender to the energy of Kailash in the heart. For others there is a mental challenge to allow universal love to arise free from the constraints of the mind. For many, there is deep inner awareness that emerges from within, in resonance with the sacred vibrations of Kailash.
For a few, the challenge to move through one’s conditioning and old ways of being is too great. While on a pilgrimage in 2004, an Ayurvedic doctor fled from the north face and did not stop running until he reached Kathmandu!
This incredible power at Kailash has led me to a deep understanding that consciousness becomes matter, they are not, in essence, different.
Matter has many levels from the gross to the subtle. The more subtle the matter, the more easily consciousness is perceived. I learnt not see Kailash as matter, for though it manifests as stone, its true nature is pure energy. It was revealed to me as a whirling ball of energy masquerading as solid rock just as we masquerade as physical bodies!
So, when we enter the field of that energy that is Kailash, the matter inside us, the matter that we are made from, is refined to a point that it converts to subtle form within each cell of the body.
Kailash merely brings us within its field, and we become transformed. Our gross self falls away and we become finer, more subtle.
Consciousness is there within us. Kailash merely brings us within its field, and we become transformed. Our gross self falls away and we become finer, more subtle. The mind is infused with that energy and turns inwards to perceive the consciousness that we truly are.
The spiritual heart begins to resonate in tune with the energy of Kailash and so we are drawn into the influence of the seat of consciousness within us.
Shiva is that consciousness. Therefore, it is said to dwell at Kailash. There is no Shiva with a trident and long hair. That is only a representation of the falling away of material perception, material desire.
So, when you reach Kailash you must enter the silence of your own heart. There you will perceive, and then become, the all-pervading consciousness. In this way Kailash becomes the portal and mirror of your own heart.
